My Bio
I was never what I thought of as 'crafty'. One day a friend invited me to a "Stampin' Up" party and I went. As a courtesy I made a small purchase. When I received my stamps I made a few cards, and a small scrapbook...I was hooked. The next paryt I went to I spent $80.00 and I was off and running. As it turned out, I was pretty good. Several years later, I had to have a liver transplant. A friend of mine had begun making jewelry. One afternoon after the surgery, I was looking at the bracelet she made for me. I thought to myself, "This does not look that hard." I went to the nearest craft store and purchased some beads and other materials and made a necklace to match the bracelet. As it turned out, I was pretty good at that too. I began making more jewelry than I could ever possibly wear. What would I ever do with all those necklaces, earrings and bracelets. I soon learned that our church was going to have a ladies retreat and one afternoon was going to be a 'craft' afternoon. They had areas where we could participate in making items, which I did. They also had a area where ladies could sell items, which I also did. I sold quite a bit of my jewelry. And so it continues. I am now unable to work any longer, but I am still able to craft. So I spend my days jumping from my beads to my stamps and stamp pads. Whatever mood strike me.
