Can you tell us a little bit about your blog and when you started it?
Our blog's first post was on April 19th of this year. We started it because we are always telling each other about fun stuff we have done or great recipes we have made and thought it would be a fun thing for us to do together. We didn't want to have a blog with only crafts or recipes, but rather with anything we thought was creative and something other people would be interested in. We have a few posts that are mainly informational, like the benefits of coconut oil or 30 summer camping tips. We think that anyone can be creative and we try to do something creative every day. If we can inspire someone else's creativity, then we have accomplished a great thing!
What is one of your favorite projects you've ever made?
Samantha's favorite project was the nursery she did for her daughter, just because it was for her daughter and it was something she and her husband did together. You can see it here. My favorite project was probably the side tables I altered. I made them for my younger daughter and it was fun to take something that was kind of stuffy and make it fun for a teenager. You can see them here.
Where do you find inspiration for your creative projects?
A lot of time we find inspiration for projects just from needing something. For example I needed something to organize my jewelry and came up with an idea to store them without taking up room that I didn't have. These will be on our blog on July 17th and also took the longest for me to make. Other times we will see something on the internet someplace or in a store and figure out ways to make it our own.
I think Samantha and I both try to make things that are kid-friendly and don't cost a lot of money. She has three small children and neither of us want to be telling them not to touch stuff all of the time. That is just no fun at all for anyone. So we try to create things that if they touch it or even break it, will not be the end of the world. We also like fun things that make us smile when we look at them.
When I'm not crafting, I can be found . . .
If we aren't creating, we both like spending time with our family and friends. I have recently taken up photography, so I look for activities where I can take lots of pictures, like hiking and camping. I also travel a lot and have another blog which covers my adventures at Pebble Pirouette. Samantha loves to do stuff with her kids and husband, like visiting the zoo, park or water parks in the area. Of course she is always chasing those cute little people around.
