This week in our blogger profile, we feature Carolyn Goodwin, a CraftFoxes user and the winner of last year’s Duck Tape Christmas Ornament contest. You can see her winning entry in the image above. Carolyn has posted many projects to the CraftFoxes site, maintains a Facebook page which describes her as the Duct Tape Queen, and her creations have even been featured on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show! Carolyn’s daughter made a purse that Ellen showcased, and you can watch the video of that Ellen craft appearance. We asked Carolyn a few questions and here’s what she had to say.
What is one of your favorite projects you've ever made?
That would have to be The Ellen Head Purse my daughter, Kim, and I made together, which ended up being featured on her show.
Which of your craft projects took the longest to finish?
This would be two things: the Ellen Head Purse mentioned above, as well as the 7-foot Big Foot my daughter and I made. This also won first place in Duck Brands 2012 Stick or Treat Halloween Contest.
Where do you find inspiration for your creative projects?
My inspiration has come to me a few ways. One is when my daughter and I walk through stores. We see things, usually the same exact thing, and say "That can be done in duct tape!" I have also had a few dreams, which have led to projects, like the Ellen Head Purse. Then just experimenting and playing with crafts leads to something new.
