I created paper origami pinwheels to use as pen toppers for tiny gel pens. I used Dylan's Candy Bar Smelly Jelly Gel Pens. With 36 mini gel pens per pack, I thought these would make great cupcake toppers and party favors for a child's birthday party!
To fold the pinwheel, I started with a 3" square of scrapbook paper and followed this tutorial for making an origami pinwheel. For the pink gingham and yellow floral paper, I used a double-side sheet of Stampin' Up Designer Series Paper in Gingham Garden. After I made the pinwheels, I simply taped them to the bottom end of a gel pen.
