Popularized by Bakerella, Hello Kitty cake pops are as adorable as they are edible. Hello Kitty's friends like Chococat can be created in cake pop form with the right supplies and a little imagination. We've gathered some ideas for decorating cake and food crafts like these Chococat Hello Kitty cake pops.

Step 1

To make Chococat cake pops, first you'll gather supplies. You will need a prepared cake, frosting, a Wilton Sprinkle Set with triangles, Wilton Candy Eyeballs, Wilton Lollipop Sticks (6-inch size) and candy corn. Wilton also makes confetti sprinkles (which look like flat candy dots) in different colors, and you can use the orange dot to make Chococat's nose.

Step 2

Start with a basic cake mix and prepare according to the directions. Crumble the cake into a bowl and mix with cake frosting, anywhere from one-half to one-third of a can. Blend mixture together until cake crumbles can be rolled into balls.

Step 3

If you have a cookie scoop, use this to measure out the right amount for each cake pop. Scoop cake crumbles and roll into balls just larger than one inch in diameter. Arrange on a cookie sheet and pop into the fridge for one hour to solidify.

Step 4

Remove cake pops from the fridge. Melt a small amount of almond bark and dip the end of a stick into melted chocolate. Insert the chocolate-covered end of the stick halfway into the center of a cake ball. Refrigerate cake pops for 15 minutes with the sticks inside, to harden. Remove the cake pops, which you can now stand upright in a styrofoam base.

Step 5

Take two pieces of candy corn and chop off the flat end to shorten.

Melt chocolate into a tall container like a plastic cup. Dip a toothpick into melted chocolate and dab it on the cake pop where the ears should sit. Adhere candy corn to the chocolate to create the shape of ears. When ears are firmly attached, dip cake pops in melted chocolate. For the best coverage, dip the cake pop in once, hold for a few seconds, then remove with a slow twist. Do not tap the cake pop. After the cake pops have been covered, put them in the fridge for 15 minutes to let the chocolate harden.

Step 6

Decorate the face with candy eyes. Use a toothpick to dab melted chocolate onto the cake pop where you want to affix the candy pieces. Add orange triangles to make the inside of ears. Choose long chocolate sprinkles and add to the cheeks to make whiskers. Add an orange candy sprinkle to the cheeks to make Chococat's nose. Enjoy your Chococat Hello Kitty cake pops!
