Easy Ruffled Streamers

Crepe paper streamers are a standby for kids parties, but with a simple line of stitches, you can make them a little more sophisticated. While it looks gorgeous on a solid color, I like to layer different hues. How great would this be in a rainbow of colors for a birthday?

Materials:
- Crepe paper streamers (Get them from the same brand, since widths can vary)
- A sewing machine
- Thread

Step 1

Layer Streamers - While you can ruche a single streamer, it looks better if you have at least two layers of crepe paper. I pin the streamers together to keep them straight as I sew.

Step 2

Sew - Stitch down the center of the streamers, occasionally stopping to adjust the tension. The crepe paper should ruffle as you sew. Once finished, "fluff" the layers to really enhance the ruffled look.
