Make a duct tape necklace with colored or patterned duct tape. It makes a great craft for kids and teenagers, and is a great way to reuse household materials.
Materials:
- Duct Tape (red, orange, pink, yellow)
- Transparent nylon thread
- Necklace clasp
- Hole punch
- Circle template (plastic bottle cap)

Duct Tape Necklace
Step 1
Measure yourself for a medium-length necklace. Cut 1 thread to that length. Then, cut 1 thread, subtracting 2 inches from the original length. For the third thread, cut it to the second thread length minus 2 inches. (Example: 22 inches, 20 inches, 18 inches)
Step 2
Knot one end of all three threads to a necklace clasp.
Step 3
Cut 10 2-inch squares out of each color.
Step 4
Create little pieces of "fabric" by SSS 2 together. Repeat until you have 20 squares.
Step 5
Use your circle template to trace and cut out circles from each square.
Step 6
In the middle of each circle, punch a hole.
Step 7
Vary the color as you thread them onto each string of the necklace.
Step 8
Knot the three loose ends together onto the remaining necklace clasp.
