Duct Tape Crafts: T-shirt Sleeve Bunchers
These sleeve bunchers add some fun styling to an oversized T-shirt. Use them to hold up your sleeves, or even attach one to the front of your shirt to show off your midriff. And don’t miss the cool sidebar on page 36, which tells you how to make a buncher to tighten up the body of a shirt. Make sleeve bunchers in the colors of your favorite sports team and wear them with a jersey, or make them to match your favorite T-shirt. Accent them with any type of embellishment you desire, from buttons, to gems, to stickers, to rosettes. There’s no end to the possibilities! Tools and Materials: Duct Tape: 1 Checker Roll (bunchers) Gemstones or Novelty Buttons Hook-and-Loop Fastener Strips withAdhesive Backing Nonstick Scissors Cork-Backed Ruler Hot Glue Gun Glue Sticks Cutting Mat (optional)

Step 1

MAKE THE STRAP AND ATTACH THE FASTENERS. Create a 12" (305mm)-long folded thin strip. Then, measure and cut 3 3/4" (95mm)-long hook-and-loop fastener strips. Attach the fasteners to each end of the strip, placing the hook piece on the front side and the loop piece on the back side.

FOLD THE BUNCHER. Crease the folded thin strip where it meets the hook-and-loop fasteners, and close the buncher.

EMBELLISH. Attach gems, stickers, buttons, rosettes, or any other embellishments desired to the top of the buncher. Repeat these steps to make a matching buncher for your other sleeve.

Step 4

Adhesive Advice When positioning hook-and-loop fasteners on wearable items, it is helpful to secure one fastener piece in place on the project as a guide, and then lay the corresponding fastener piece on top of it with the adhesive side exposed. When you close the item, the fastener piece with the sticky side exposed will attach in just the right place for a perfect fit.
