Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), dc in next st, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, dc in each of last 2 sts, turn. Row 3: Ch 3, dc in next st, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, dc in ea of last 2 sts, turn. Rows 4-44: Rep Rows 2 and 3 (20 times); rep Row 2. Fasten off. Make 4 more strips, joining to previous strip as follows: Second and Successive Strips Row 1: Ch 7, sl st in side of last dc on first row of previous strip, ch 1, turn, sk last 2 ch, dc in next ch, ch 3, skip next ch, sc in next ch, ch 3, skip next ch, dc in each of last 2 ch, turn. Row 2: Ch 3, dc in next st, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, dc in next dc, dc in next ch, turn. Row 3: Ch 1, sk next row-end st on previous strip, sl st in side of next row-end dc on previous strip, ch 1 (ch 1, sl st, ch counts as dc), turn, dc in next st, sc in next ch-3 sp, ch 3, sc in next ch-3 sp, dc in each of last 2 sts, turn. Rows 4-44: Rep Rows 2 and 3 (20 times); rep Row 2. Fasten off. Laces (make 2) Ch 350. Fasten off. Weave in ends. Wash, block to finished measurements, and let dry.
