Quilt Market Fabric Trends

Twice each year, quilting fabric designers come together to present at the International Quilt Market, a trade show where they can show off their latest fabric collections, sewing patterns and quilting products. The spring 2012 Quilt Market was held in Kansas City last weekend, and showed some noticeable trends in fabric design, particularly in modern fabric and quilting. Here is a little glimpse into the show floor at Quilt Market and a look at the fabric trends we can't get enough of.

Jewel Tones

Fabric designer Tula Pink shows off a stunning quilt in jewel tones of blues, purples and pinks, all set atop a background of steel gray. The wonky stacked books quilt design shows off her color palette perfectly, and the elegant swirled quilting finishes off the showpiece.
