This week Duff Goldman, host of the Food Network's "Ace of Cakes," launches a DIY cake studio in Los Angeles called Cakemix, which is a bit like paint-your-own-pottery for cake and food. Created with teenagers and bachelorette parties in mind, the studio will offer home bakers the chance to try the cake world's trendiest innovations, including cake pops, cake tattoos and even airbrush designs. Interested artisans will have access to paints, sprinkles (or jimmies, for those back East) and, of course, fondant to decorate pre-baked cakes. Prices start at $36 for an undecorated cake and $18 for four cupcakes.
