Native peoples of Maine have been perfecting the craft of basket-making for thousands of years, passing the skills down from generation to generation, and the result is some of the most exquisite baskets made today. The Craft Fair of the Southern Highlands

Since 1930, the Southern Highland Craft Guild has been identifying artists of the highest caliber in their region, from Maryland to Alabama. Once every summer, the public has the privilege of viewing the work of these gifted artisans all at once sometimes in real-time at craft demonstrations, all with the lovely accompaniment of local musicians playing traditional and bluegrass mountain music live.
