Sock Monkey Hat — Free Knitting Pattern

I consider sock monkeys to be one of those "it's so iconic everyone must have at least one in their lives" crafts.  This version, though, is not for those who follow the crowd. Striped in rainbow colors, with a felt mouth and confetti pom poms, this hat is for those of us for whom life is a little more loud. Designed to fit a child, this relatively simple pattern could be easily increased to nestle on the head of a child at heart. It uses up leftover yarn too, so all those small balls sitting in your knitting basket can get put to good use.
