This is a great example of how a timeless (and free) crochet pattern like a snowflake potholder can morph into many projects. Originally, Linda created this pattern to be used as a potholder, but the clever crocheters at Ravelry took it and created more than 80 different projects based on her design. They used it as the base for a table runner, afghans, card holders and coasters. So consider the possibilities the next time you come across a standard crochet pattern like circles, flowers, hearts or trees.
For the free original pattern, you will need to be a member of Ravelry. Their membership is free and the community is huge! You can find the free pattern download here, Linda's Snowflake Potholder.
