In his book "Cocktail Napkin Origami" (Sterling), Duy Ngyuen explains that he struggled to learn how to fold paper at first, and taught himself origami techniques by looking ahead in the pictures to see how the folds should look. So, these instructions for making an origami penguin may not have much explanation, yet they do include most of what you'll need.
While the idea for the book is based around using cocktail napkins for each piece, you can use just about any square sheet of paper, explains Duy, including wrapping paper or white paper.
