Sometimes gloves just don't cut it when your hands are freezing. (Have you ever tried typing while wearing gloves? Disaster!) That's why we're loving this Heart Hand Warmers Tutorial from Becky at Patchwork Posse. The hand warmers are filled with rice, so you can pop them in the microwave for less than a minute and get instant warmth.

You can use nearly any fabric to make these, but Becky upcycled some old sweaters to make her hand warmers. Want to follow Becky's lead? Wool sweaters work best, but you'll need to felt your sweater in hot water to close up the tiny openings in the fabric. Check out Threadbanger's video below for step-by-step instructions for how to felt a sweater.

Want to pair your hand warmers with another heartfelt gift this Valentine's Day? You can DIY for any valentine on your list! We have a couple more ideas for you.
