This week we feature Marni, a CraftFoxes member and blogger at Haberdashery Fun. Over at her blog, Marni calls herself a “sewing nerd.” She has studied the field of fashion and has transferred her obsession with sewing and other crafts to her blog. On the blog, Marni shares DIY projects, sewing ideas and patterns, and much, much more. We asked Marni some questions about her crafts and other interests and here is what she had to say.
Can you tell us a little bit about your blog and when you started it?
I started my blog over a year ago. I studied fashion design and worked in technical design and product development. I love to create and sew anything! I launched my blog as a place to unleash all my ideas. It's a happy day for me when I’m sewing, taking pictures and doing the DIY blog write-ups.
What is one of your favorite projects you've ever made?
I am newly inspired by anything and everything baby. I never thought I would have so much joy designing and sewing baby products, but this seems to be my focus right now. My two favorite projects so far are tutorials on a baby bib and a hooded baby towel. These can be seen on my blog. I probably love these the most because they feature my son and it brings back awesome memories.
Where do you find inspiration for your creative projects?
Everywhere! I work for a footwear company and travel a lot. I see inspiration everywhere — airports, shops, trade shows, even on people.
Which of your craft projects took the longest to finish?
My quilts. I have given them all away as gifts. I love hearing about how and where my friends and family are using and loving them.
When I'm not crafting, I can be found...
Doing yoga, hanging with my husband and son, touring/going for long walks and/or traveling.
