We're happy to introduce a new quilting book, "Fat Quarterly Shape Workshop for Quilters: 60 Blocks + a Dozen Quilts and Projects!" written by Katy Jones, Brioni Greenberg, Tacha Bruecher and John Q. Adams and published by Lark Crafts.
If you've never heard of Fat Quarterly, it is a modern sewing and quilting e-zine released four times per year. Each issue includes original patterns centered around a theme, such as paper piecing or sewing with kids, and features industry news, fabric and product highlights and interviews with creative people. Each of the four authors of this book are a part of publishing the Fat Quarterly e-zine.
Along with teaching how to make 10 quilt blocks in each chapter, for a total of 60 blocks, each chapter also has directions for two full-size projects from quilts to table runners to a fabric clock! We think this book is a great resource for quilters of all levels.
Thanks to Lark Crafts and the Fat Quarterly team for having CraftFoxes on the "Fat Quarterly Shape Workshop for Quilters" blog tour! You can follow along at the final two stops:
Would you like to view a free pattern from the book? The block pictured to the right is designed by John Q. Adams and features a twist on the traditional bowties quilt block. Lindsay's yellow, aqua and gray version of "Bowties & Blooms" is broken down in a step-by-step tutorial, excerpted with permission from Lark Crafts.
