Step 1

After taping and covering the edges of the mirror, we’re ready to paint. I decided to paint my mirror with Annie Sloan Paint in Provence. It’s a lovely blue! Wouldn’t you agree? Still unsure? You’ll see.

Step 2

What I love about this paint is no sanding, no priming — just painting. I applied two coats to ensure full coverage.

Step 3

I then wanted to give it a slight stain look in spots. I thought I would try using a distressed ink pad I had and apply with a makeup sponge. It looked great going on, but absorbed right into the paint.

So, I moved on to my backup plan that I’ve used on several occasions, watered down Brown Acrylic Paint. Works perfectly every time!

Step 4

To seal the deal, I used my Annie Sloan Clear Soft Wax.

Step 5

Here it is completed.
