Yarn bombing? More like "yarn boring" now that fabric artist Luke Haynes has decided to try his hand at the fiber graffiti using patchwork quilts instead of yarn to adorn the front of an abandoned Seattle bungalow last week. Using over 500 pounds of fabric, most of it garnished from the racks of area Goodwills, and 30 volunteers recruited on Facebook, Haynes covered the house front in just two days. The temporary art installation covers up a formerly boarded-up Capitol Hill house located in a neighborhood currently experiencing some revitalization and will be taken down when the building becomes the headquarters for a local technical book company in a few months.
